The House Of Cards Exhibition

Just a few short weeks ago I answered an open call for all artists to submit work for an exhibition of celebrating the well loved children's story, 'Alice in Wonderland' by Lewis Carrol. The Name of the Exhibition was 'The House Of Cards'and all artworks were to include distinguishable elements of a playing card.

I am still buzzing after an exciting and really interesting opening night on Friday night! I submitted two paintings and was lucky enough to sell the small one entitled 'The Apology'at the opening. I loved looking at everyone else's work and soaking up the atmosphere. It is very inspiring being around that many creative people at one time.

The talented people at The Incubator gallery and the Tauranga Historic Village did an amazing job of creating a dark and magical wonderland experience. An entire street was transformed in to a mad hatters tea party with loads of street performers, live music and many of the artists in full costume.

It was the very first time I have ever been to an exhibition opening that included my work, but hopefully not the last!

I am so glad that my first gallery opening night was so memorable! My larger more detailed work 'Wonderland' is still available for purchase at The Incubator, so get down there and check it out. The exhibition closes November the 4th.
